Photography Is Such A Great Job

What a great profession photography is. The other day I got hired to go and photograph a lacrosse match so that I could make posters for the graduating seniors. It was a beautiful day and they were playing their game in Gloucester Massachusetts, right on the ocean. I love photographing sports and got lots of great shots as well as getting a chance to get away from the computer and enjoy the day. On the way back to the studio I thought, hey I ought to go take some beach shots, it was late in the day and it was the beautiful sweet light that you only get late in the day or early in the morning. I got lots of really great shots at the beach also, but wanted to show this one of a lighthouse that I thought was pretty good. I also wanted to show a couple of different variations that I made with the NIK filters plugins in Photoshop. These filters make photography fun even when your done shooting. The first shot below is the original shot without any manipulations.

The next shot below is one click of the color-stylizer filter.

The next variation is a one click of the solarization filter.

And the last variation below is 2 clicks of the brilliance-warmth filter.

They are all different variations of the same shot, but I like them all, and they are just a few of the filters from the plugin. So from the beginning of the shoot till the image preparation it was all fun, photography is such a great job and passion.
